The two price models
We pay two ways depending on what condition your scrap arrives in:
- Per piece (Complete Units) — for whole machines (desktops, servers, laptops, switches, phones, APCs). Quick to weigh in, no stripping required. Best when you have volume but no time to break things down.
- Per kilo (Materials) — for stripped components: RAM sticks, loose CPUs, PCBs, heatsinks, sockets. Pays a lot more per item but requires you to strip and sort first.
A complete desktop weighing 8 kg pays £0.65 as a unit. The same machine stripped — motherboard out, RAM out, CPU out, heatsinks split — typically pays £3–£8 depending on what's inside. Strip if you can, weigh-in whole if you can't.

30% deduction rule: all PCBs must arrive free of steel, alloy brackets, plugs, fans, and other attachments. If they don't, we deduct 30% off the per-kg rate above to cover sorting time.
How we weigh and pay
- Calibrated scales, photo + video record of every weigh-in. Slip emailed before payment.
- Disagree with the grade? We re-weigh in person on camera, or return the load at our cost.
- Payment by bank transfer only — no cash, ever. UK Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013.
- One-time photo ID + proof of address check on first sale, then on file.
- Minimum payout £30. Pickups under that aren't worth the freight.
Free UK collection
Over 50 kg or 20 units and we collect free across the North West, M62 corridor and London. Anywhere else mainland UK we cover freight on loads over 250 kg. Office clearances, data-centre decommissions, school refreshes and IT-shop overflow are all standard work for us.
Smaller lots can be posted in — any UK carrier — we credit return postage on anything we end up returning.
Common questions
What counts as "complete" vs "missing parts"?
Complete = motherboard, drive, RAM and PSU all still in the case. Missing parts = any of those gone. We're not strict on cosmetics; we are strict on the four core components.
Do you take CRT or LCD monitors?
No — they're WEEE-regulated waste and require licensed disposal. Here's what to do with monitors.
What about gaming GPUs?
Working modern GPUs aren't really scrap — eBay or trade-in pays many times more. Dead GPUs go in with mid-grade PCB (£3.75/kg).
How fast do you pay?
Same week as weigh-in, usually 1–2 working days. Trade accounts run on Net 14 or Net 30 for monthly volume.
