Loads weighed on calibrated, stamped scales with photo + video record. You get the weigh-slip emailed before payment. Disagree with the grade? We re-weigh in person, on camera, or return the load at our cost. No surprises, no haggling.
How we grade what you bring in
Per-piece prices apply when the item arrives complete; the per-kg grades reflect material content (mirror-back gold ≠ pinless ≠ ceramic). We grade in front of you on bulk loads.
Highest-yield material
Ceramic 286/386/486, mirror-back CPUs, black-fibre PGA — top dollar per kilo. Sorted, clean, no attachments.
Working full units & clean material
Working laptops/servers weighed in, clean RAM, AMD Threadripper/EPYC CPUs, modern Intel LGA.
Mixed condition
Stripped desktops, dirty RAM, mid-grade boards, plastic switches. Listed prices apply.
Brown boards or contaminated lots
Brown phenolic boards, low-grade PCBs, or material with steel/alloy/plugs still attached — 30% deduction.
How to prep your scrap for top price
A clean lot is a higher-paying lot. Two minutes of prep per kilo can mean 30% more on your weigh-in.
RAM
- Clean = no heatsinks, no plastic spreaders → £65/kg
- Dirty = heatsinks still attached → £32/kg
- Pull heatsinks off and split them out as Cu/Al heatsinks for extra pay
CPUs
- Separate ceramic-bodied chips from pinned plastic ones — the gold ceramics pay 10× more
- Mirror-back PGA (gold spreader visible) → £98/kg; metal-back PGA → £14/kg
- Pinless modern LGA → £11/kg; AMD Threadripper/EPYC out separately → £45/kg
PCBs
- Strip mainboards: no PSU, no fans, no CPU socket carriers, no plastic clips
- Bare PCBs only — 30% deduction if steel/alloy/plugs left on
- Split telecom and network PCBs out from generic mid-grade — they pay much more
Complete units
- Whole desktops/servers/laptops paid per kilogram — no need to strip first
- "Missing parts" rate kicks in when motherboard, drives or RAM are gone
- APC/UPS units paid by kg; lead-acid batteries inside are disposed responsibly at no charge
